Hyundai is reportedly considering diversifying — or 'watering down', whichever you prefer — its N lineup with a third type of N model.

Currently, Hyundai's N lineup has two tiers. The first tier is made up of the full-fat N cars, like the Elantra N and Ioniq 5 N. The second tier is the N-Line series, varying between cosmetic upgrades in nature as on the Tucson and Kona N-Line models, to mildly spicy performance upgrades to go along with more aggressive styling, as seen on the Elantra N-Line.

Now, Hyundai is looking to add a third tier. According to a company presentation, this new flavour of N-tuned vehicles is said to wrap the powertrains and performance credentials of the full-fat N cars in a subtler-looking and softer-edged package with more bells-and-whistles.

Not much else is known beyond that tidbit in the presentation, but we think the top of that pyramid is interesting to note — a "flagship halo" under another new "Motorsport" tier. How about that.

Either way, Hyundai will have more to share by 2030. Tick tock.
