Ford isn't letting GM bask in the spotlight with the new Silverado and Sierra, revealing a series of well-timed updates of its own to the 2027 F-150 lineup.
The mildly reworked F-150 starts with a subtle refresh, albeit only on certain trims. The XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum trucks wear a new front grille, subtly updated with a new mesh design and a double-bar motif running across. It pairs with new wheel designs across the board.

Powertrain updates for 2027 include a new base engine. The 2.7-litre EcoBoost V6 is gone, replaced by Ford's newer 3.0L unit. Power and torque remains the same — 325 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque — but peak torque arrives earlier in the rev range. South of the border, Ford is expanding availability of the 5.0-litre V8 to the F-150 King Ranch and Platinum trucks, but not for Canada.

Also not-for-Canada are two new packages. Ford is offering U.S. buyers new, lower-priced Tremor and Raptor trims, essentially trading niceties like power seats, heated seats, automatic climate control, running boards, and the like for more off-road-ready hardware. These various tweaks cut the Tremor and Raptor's prices by US$5,2170 and US$4,010, respectively.

What we will get is the 2027 F-150 Charhartt Edition. Just like its Super Duty sibling, the F-150 Carhartt wears a number of unique cosmetic touches including special graphics and sweet-looking seats, Carhartt logos all over, and a unique set of 20-inch wheels that, sadly, are not the sweet-looking manhole cover-inspired design on the Super Duty.

Last but not least, Ford has expanded BlueCruise's capabilities, now able to function at up to 120 km/h while towing a trailer. However, you'll have to take the wheel if you want to change lanes or travel through a construction zone.
For now, Ford has only announced pricing for the 2027 F-150 Carhartt, starting at $82,285. Expect to see the first few 2027s pop up in dealers early next year.
