Chevrolet is expanding the 2027 Traverse lineup upwards with a new top-trim model wearing a familiar name.

The top-of-the-line High Country trim returns to the Traverse lineup for 2027, bringing with it an "evolved" — GM's words, not ours — look. This new era of High Country models will be more "modern, athletic, and contemporary" starting with the 2027 Traverse, then followed by the new Silverado.

The High Country's new look starts with a new badge. Instead of bold chrome lettering framing a mountain, the new script is thinner and separated by a simpler stylized mountain, framed in a manner bearing more than a passing resemblance to Rivian's logo.

Elsewhere, the Traverse High Country features a front grille and headline accents finished in "Tritan Satin", 22-inch wheels, "premium seating material" finished in Jet Black with tan accents, and real wood trim.

On the tech front, the 2027 Traverse High Country introduces a new trick called Cabin Glance. Standard on the High Country and optional elsewhere in the Traverse lineup, it lets occupants up front access a live camera feed of the second and third rows. The Traverse High Country also gets a new feature called Surround Vision Recorder, which uses its exterior cameras as a dash cam and event recorder, both while driving and while parked and the alarm is activated.

The 2027 Traverse is already on sale, so the High Country is somewhat late to the party. Production begins in the next few weeks in Michigan, and will hit dealers shortly thereafter.
